Outdoor spaces are increasingly treated as natural extensions of the home. We supply and fit heavy-duty external wiring and underground cabling using tough steel wire armoured (SWA) cable buried at safe depths beneath lawns, driveways, and garden borders. We install IP66-rated waterproof sockets and external outlets, giving you safe, weatherproof power for lawnmowers, pressure washers, and outdoor tools without needing risky extension leads trailed out through an open window.
If you are upgrading your garden, we handle all types of garden pond electrics. We run dedicated supplies for submersible pumps, multi-stage filtration units, UV clarifiers, and decorative water features, fitting local isolation switches so you can service pond kits safely. For patio and seating areas, we wire electric patio heaters to extend the use of your garden into colder months. We also install dedicated, high-amperage supplies for hot-tub electrics, providing the correct rotary isolator switch within sight of the tub and setting up proper RCD protection. If you want entertainment outside, we install outdoor AV solutions, including weather-resistant garden speakers, discreet audio wiring, and exterior television feeds for covered pergolas.
A carefully considered outdoor lighting scheme makes your garden practical to use at night while giving your property an added layer of security. We install energy-efficient LED fittings that handle wet British conditions year after year. Our installations include warm ground-level uplighters to highlight mature trees, flush deck lights, subtle path lighting, and wall-mounted lanterns.
For property protection, we fit powerful security floodlights with PIR motion sensors that deter unwanted visitors and light your path to the front door or garage. We can wire your outdoor lighting back to internal switches, automated dusk-to-dawn photo sensors, or smart-home automation systems that allow you to control garden zones straight from your phone or set automated lighting routines when you are away.
Detached buildings need their own reliable electrical infrastructure. We run sub-mains cables out to sheds, garden rooms, timber workshops, and home offices, fitting dedicated mini consumer units with appropriate circuit breakers. That way, running a power tool or a heater in the shed will not trip the main fuse board in your house.
We also carry out garage-conversion electrics, house-extension electrics, and barn-conversion electrics. Turning an attached or detached garage into a habitable room requires careful integration with the existing house distribution board. We run new ring mains for double sockets, install energy-efficient LED downlights, and fit supplies for electric panel heaters. For barn conversions and outbuildings, our electricians route cabling sensitively through exposed timber framing and vaulted roofs, preserving original features while integrating modern heating, lighting controls, and dedicated EV charging points on your driveway.

An extension lead is not a suitable substitute for a properly designed permanent electrical supply. A garden office or workshop may need lighting, heating and several sockets, so its power requirements need assessing. We can plan a supply with appropriate cabling, protection and isolation for how you intend to use the building.
Possibly, but it depends on the route and the protection the cable needs. A buried route may require trenching, while another suitable route may avoid parts of the garden. We will discuss the options, any groundwork and who is responsible for reinstating surfaces before work starts.
It depends on the number of circuits, the equipment you want to use and the existing supply. A separate consumer unit may be appropriate where lighting, sockets and heating need separate circuits. We assess the proposed use and design the supply accordingly rather than assuming every outbuilding needs the same setup.
It depends on the manufacturer’s instructions and the hot tub’s electrical rating. Some models are designed for a suitable protected socket, while others require a dedicated hardwired supply and local isolator. Send us the model details before delivery so we can check what is needed. Do not assume an existing socket is suitable.
They need to be suitable for outdoor use, correctly installed and appropriately protected. The enclosure’s protection may depend on how its cover closes around a plugged-in cable. Follow its instructions, keep connections clear of standing water and stop using damaged fittings. Never use an ordinary indoor extension socket outdoors in the rain.
Water getting into a light fitting, connection or damaged cable could be responsible. Leave the affected circuit off and arrange an inspection rather than repeatedly resetting it. We can test the circuit and check the outdoor fittings to identify where the fault is occurring.
